Cammino Via Flavia Stage 5 Fossalon di Grado - Aquileia

After the Camping Punta, take the road to the left and follow the gravel road along the sea to the center of Grado. Here, you will have a chance to admire the magnificent Basilica of Santa Maria delle Grazie and, if the season permits, take a dip on the beach.

Once you reach the interior canal of the lagoon, board the scheduled “vaporettos” that will take you to the Sanctuary on the island of Barbana, a pilgrimage destination. Here you can get your validation stamp and enjoy local specialties.

Back on the mainland, we head toward Aquileia-Cervignano by following the coastal road to Belvedere. From here you continue along the old, decommissioned but bike-friendly railway to Aquileia. Here you will have a chance to admire the basilica, the Roman remains and climb to the top of the bell tower. Don't forget to taste the “conca” at the local pastry shop.
